Mr Alvarez and his grandson are very friendly but most importantly they're very knowledgeable and always willing to help. Somehow they magically have hardware that sometimes big box stores don't have 🤔. …

Great local hardware store! So much in stock, just ask! Dont get lost in those big box stores for small everyday projects! This place is convenient and has tons of things in stock.

They always have everything I need and I don't have to go all the way to Home Depot.. They are always very friendly and helpful with very reasonable prices. Family owned as well.

Great family-owned local hardware store in Pilsen. Staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and always willing to help you find what you need and answer questions. They've come through clutch for basically all of my general household upkeep and repair needs. I highly recommend stopping at Alvarez before bothering with a trip to a big box home improvement store.

I love that I have a hardware store around the corner. I've stopped by for random garden tools like string and wire cutters and have been able to find good quality products. There was one time my bicycle ulock had to be cut and the shop owner let me "rent" out his metal cutting tool (?) for a nominal price. Very helpful staff whenever I've been there!

I happened upon this place by chance. I was walking down the street towards meeting up with some friends and saw this store. I needed to make a trip to Home Depot later in the day so I figured I would see what this place had. I needed some totally random and uncommon plumbing parts and they (to my total shock) had everything I needed. Excellent service, selection, and price.

Alvarez Hardware is my go to for quick home projects. The staff is knowledgeable, patient, and easy to talk to. The store is organized and well stocked for its size. Always a smooth and pleasant visit.
